Furner’s Hotel is a well-loved local pub with a welcoming bistro, gaming room, and a friendly team. We’re looking for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen and help deliver great pub meals for locals and visitors. This is a great prospect to take ownership of the kitchen in a supportive venue with plenty of local character.

What you can expect in a day in the role:

As a Head Chef, along with encouraging teamwork and a safe working environment, you will be responsible for leading:

- Day-to-Day operations of the Kitchen
- Lead the Kitchen team with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
- Food preparation and menu planning
- Maintaining COGS, ordering, and inventory
- Rostering and budgeting
- Training and development of new and current staff

What you’ll bring to the role:

As our Head Chef, you will bring a positive attitude and team approach to our kitchen. You will also have:

- A trade qualification in commercial cookery (Cert III or Cert IV in commercial cookery)
- Advanced computer literacy, in particular, experience using software to order and cost goods,



maintain stock control, and develop employee rosters
- A flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including split shifts, across a 7-day rotating roster.
- Previous experience in pub/bistro-style dining would be advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
