About the Role
Canberra Grammar School is seeking an experienced and inspiringAssistant Director of Wellbeing Education to help shape thewellbeing, character and personal development of our Senior Schoolstudents.
This influential leadership role oversees the delivery of theSenior School’s wellbeing education programme, ensuring thatwellbeing is intentionally taught, thoughtfully sequenced andconsistently experienced by every student.
Working closely with the Director of Wellbeing Education, youwill also help lead the School’s response to complex and high-riskstudent matters, bringing sound judgement, coordinated care and astrong commitment to safeguarding and procedural integrity.
The role brings the School’s Anglican values and commitment toformation to life through the Personal Development Programme,student agency, active citizenship and visible, responsive care. Itoffers a meaningful opportunity to influence both proactivewellbeing education and the complex end of student support.
About You
You will demonstrate:
- The ability to coordinate a formation or charactereducation programme, ideally aligned with a graduate profile orsimilar framework
- An understanding of how to embed an inclusive faith orvalues framework within contemporary wellbeing education
- Experience delivering or coordinating Personal Developmentor wellbeing curricula,
including health and wellbeing,respectful relationships and consent
- The confidence to teach frank, evidence-informed content inage-appropriate and developmentally sequenced ways
- An understanding of metacognition, self-knowledge andpathways education, including the use of portfolios asmeaningful records of growth
- Experience contributing to complex case management,safeguarding and multidisciplinary coordination in a school orcomparable environment
- The ability to embed Social and Emotional Learningcapabilities across curriculum and wellbeing programmes
- Sound judgement in sensitive and high-risk matters,together with a solid commitment to child-safe practice andprocedural compliance
- An understanding of restorative practice and tiered modelsof pastoral support
- Experience coordinating service learning, activecitizenship or values-based programmes
- The capacity to bring a code of conduct and its values tolife through clear and consistent expectations
- Robust organisational skills, including coordinatingdelivery, managing workflows and following through on agreedactions
- Highly developed communication skills and the ability tonavigate challenging conversations constructively
- The ability to evaluate programme impact against definedstandards and contribute to continuous improvement
- A proactive, adaptable and collaborative leadership style,with the ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamicschool environment.
All CGS team members are required to hold:
- A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
- A current National Police Check; and
- Full working rights within Australia.
