Minarah College is an independent, co-educational Islamic School catering for grades K-12. We’re located in Green Valley in Sydney’s South West with plans for expansion in Catherine Field.

Minarah College is a growing independent Islamic K–12 school dedicated to providing a high-quality education within a caring, inclusive, and faith-based environment. We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and student-focused School Learning Support Officer (SLSO) to join our Learning Enrichment Team.

The successful applicant will work collaboratively with teachers, the Head of Learning Enrichment, and school leaders to provide targeted educational support that enables students with diverse learning needs to access the curriculum, achieve their individual goals, and participate fully in school life.

Key Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Head of Learning Enrichment, the successful applicant will:
- Provide in-class and small-group support for students requiring additional learning assistance across Kindergarten to Year 12.
- Implement learning adjustments and targeted intervention strategies under the direction of classroom teachers and the Head of Learning Enrichment.
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs), and other personalised learning programs.
- Assist students with a range of learning needs, including disability, learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.
- Foster student independence, confidence, and engagement in learning while providing appropriate academic, behavioural, and personal support.
- Assist in delivering literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning intervention programs.
- Monitor, record, and communicate student progress to support ongoing planning and review.




- Prepare learning resources and assist teachers with classroom organisation and differentiated learning activities.
- Supervise and support students during excursions, camps, assessments, and other College activities as required.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues while maintaining professional confidentiality.
- Contribute to the College's inclusive culture and commitment to excellence in learning and student wellbeing.

Applicants will demonstrate:

- Demonstrated experience as a School Learning Support Officer, Teacher's Aide, Integration Aide, Learning Support Assistant, or similar role within a school setting.
- Certificate III or Certificate IV in School Based Education Support, Education Support, or an equivalent qualification (or significant relevant experience).
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning and support needs across primary and/or secondary settings.
- Sound understanding of inclusive education, differentiated instruction, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional Learning Enrichment team.
- Initiative, flexibility, and a proactive approach to supporting students and teachers.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
- A current NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience supporting students funded through the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
- Experience using assistive technologies and educational support software.
- Knowledge of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) or positive behaviour support practices.
- Understanding of child protection legislation and mandatory reporting responsibilities.
- An understanding of, and commitment to,
