The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Client Partnership Manager to strengthen our market position and drive sustainable client growth nationally, with a primary focus on Queensland. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this senior role is responsible for identifying,
developing and securing new business opportunities, while also leading retention efforts for existing contracts subject to competitive retender.
You will shape and execute long‑term strategic growth initiatives, build and maintain influential relationships with key clients and stakeholders, and lead high‑level negotiations through to deal closure. The role suits a commercially astute BD leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑site services environment and is excited by both winning new contracts and protecting a strong existing portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Prospect and convert new clients to deliver profitable revenue growth and build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Grow, maintain and leverage networks, including cold outreach where appropriate, to identify decision makers and secure high‑value meetings.
- Plan approaches and pitches, collaborating with the CCO, CEO and internal bid/tender resources to develop compelling, client‑centric proposals.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing is competitive and commercially sound, with all labour, on‑costs, materials, equipment, admin and overheads appropriately covered.
- Lead high‑level negotiations, handle objections effectively and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes aligned to AFS strategy and values.
- Attend industry events, monitor market and competitor activity, and provide insights to senior management to shape new services and offerings.
- Identify and develop clear AFS value propositions and differentiators for target markets and sectors.
- Forecast and report on sales targets,
track BD activity and maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot).
- Act as senior contact for priority clients, ensuring strong engagement, timely issue resolution and proactive retention planning in partnership with Operations.
About you
You are an experienced business development or client growth professional with a track record of winning and retaining multi‑site, contract‑based services work. You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution and are confident engaging at executive level, both internally and with clients.
We are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in a business‑related discipline (e.g. sales, marketing) – highly regarded.
- Proven experience in business development, account management or strategic sales, ideally in facility services (cleaning, waste, security, construction cleaning, height access) or a related B2B service setting.
- Demonstrated success in creating and converting new business opportunities and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong networking, communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the maturity to engage effectively at all levels.
- Commercial acumen and experience pricing work to win on value, not just price.
- Ability to write, compile and present professional sales proposals and presentations.
- Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot experience advantageous).
- High attention to detail, strong planning and reporting capability, and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
Why join Austral Facility Services?
- Opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth of a national, award‑winning facility services provider headquartered in Brisbane.
- Senior leadership exposure, working closely with the CCO, CEO, COO and broader executive team on strategic growth priorities.
- A values‑driven culture that genuinely focuses on long‑term partnerships, service excellence and innovation in how we support our clients.
