Elite Heating & Cooling is seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Tradesman with HVAC, install expereince to join our dynamic team based in Fyshwick, ACT. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on commercial and residential throughout the Canberra region. As an Air Conditioning Tradesman, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality installation, maintenance and repair services that keep our clients' systems running efficiently. This role is essential to maintaining Elite Heating & Cooling's reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

Install, service and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications

Perform maintenance checks and diagnostics on new and exisiting systems to identify faults and inefficiencies

Test and charge refrigeration systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with heating and cooling equipment

Comply with all relevant safety regulations, environmental legislation and industry standards, including proper handling of refrigerants

Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used on each job

Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and solutions in a transparent and professional manner

Work collaboratively with team members and support other tradespeople on larger projects. Communicate with management and mentor apprentices

Keep up to date with technological advancements and industry best practices

What we’re looking for

Current air conditioning and refrigeration licence or equivalent qualification recognised in the ACT

A minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience working as an air conditioning or refrigeration technician

Sound knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, components and their operation

Competency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment specific to the trade

Strong understanding of electrical systems relevant to HVAC installations and repairs





Current certification in handling and recovery of refrigerants (HFC and hydrocarbon certification preferred)

Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in varied weather conditions

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and customer service skills

Reliability and a professional approach to work

A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Canberra region (company ute provided)

Experience with commercial or industrial systems is essential
