Spec Services is looking for an experienced, commercially driven leader to take ownership of our Remediation Department across the ACT and Southern NSW.

Spec Services is an established, award winning, specialist services company delivering restoration, remediation, hazardous-materials management, contract cleaning and related building services across government and commercial clients. The Opportunity

This is more than an operations role. As General Manager, you will lead the department's operational performance, commercial growth and strategic direction.

You will have the drive to strengthen our existing capability, develop new markets and build a high-performing business unit. From emergency response and remediation through to reinstatement, you will ensure every project is delivered safely, professionally and profitably.

Based in the ACT, the role includes responsibility for projects and business development opportunities throughout Southern NSW.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the Department across the ACT and Southern NSW
- High-level oversight of restoration, remediation, emergency-response and reinstatement projects
- Develop new business through established networks, strategic partnerships and market opportunities
- Build on existing solid relationships with clients, assessors, consultants, contractors and other industry stakeholders
- Maintain operational readiness and coordinate rapid responses to urgent works




- Ensure projects are properly scoped, resourced and delivered on time and within budget
- Take ownership of departmental budgets, revenue, margins, forecasting and overall profitability
- Establish effective project controls, reporting systems and performance measures
- Recruit, lead and develop a capable, accountable and high-performing team
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers to maintain quality, compliance and value
- Champion a safety-first culture across all sites and projects
- Ensure compliance with WHS, environmental, licensing, quality and contractual requirements
- Identify operational risks early and implement practical solutions

What You Bring

- Demonstrated leadership experience within restoration, remediation, construction, insurance repairs, facilities services or a related industry
- Proven commercial acumen, including budgeting, estimating, cost control and margin management
- Experience building client relationships and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue
- The ability to lead multiple projects, teams and priorities across a broad geographic area
- A practical, decisive leadership style and a strong sense of accountabilityExcellent communication,



negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
- A sound understanding of WHS, environmental and regulatory obligations
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and project or operational management systems
- The ability to remain calm, responsive and solutions-focused in time-critical situations

Requirements

- National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Full Australian working rights
- Capacity to travel throughout the ACT and Southern NSW
- Availability to support urgent or after-hours restoration responses when required
- Relevant industry qualifications or certifications will be highly regarded (IICRC, Asbestos, silica, White Card etc)
- A pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol screening, may be required
