This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a well‑established department within one of Australia's leading specialist auction houses. In this hands‑on leadership role, you'll lead a close‑knit team of 4–5 people, drive operational improvements, mentor staff, and play a key role in shaping the future growth of the business.

No prior numismatic experience is required—we're looking for an exceptional leader with strong operational and people management skills. We'll teach you the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

- Lead, mentor and support the Auction Operations team.

- Coordinate daily workflow and allocate priorities to ensure deadlines are achieved.

- Coach and develop team members while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.

- Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing staff development.

- Work closely with management to drive operational excellence.

Auction Operations

- Oversee the end‑to‑end coordination of auctions from consignment through to post‑auction settlement.

- Manage administration, customer appointments, vendor communications and workflow.

- Ensure deadlines, catalogue accuracy and operational milestones are consistently achieved.

- Coordinate viewings, collections and post‑auction activities.





- Liaise with platform providers and support interstate offices.

Customer & Vendor Relationships

- Deliver exceptional service to customers and vendors.

- Manage consignments, vendor statements and settlement processes.

- Resolve enquiries promptly and professionally.

- Build strong relationships that encourage repeat business and long‑term loyalty.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and operational efficiency.

- Develop and implement new processes and procedures.

- Support business growth through innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

- Demonstrated leadership or management experience.

- Exceptional organisational and time management skills.

- Strong customer service and relationship‑building abilities.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach.

- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Confidence managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and web‑based systems.

- Previous experience in auctions, administration, logistics, customer service or a related operational workplace will be highly regarded.

No prior numismatic experience is required. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.
