- 12-Months Parental Leave contract

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Managerto join our Management Team on a 12-month fixed-term parental leave contract, working 3-4 days per week.

Reporting to the Executive Officer and working as part of our Management Team, you'll provide both strategic and practical HR support across the employee lifecycle, partnering closely with managers and staff to strengthen capability, performance and workplace culture.

This is not a "business as usual" HR role. Over the past 12 months, MLC has introduced a new HR and payroll system,commencedorganisation-widevalueswork, and developed a new strategic direction. The next phase focuses on embedding these foundations and continuing to build sustainable HR,leadershipand performance frameworks that support our people and our mission.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage MLC's HR function.
- Partner with managers to provide practical advice and support on employee relations,performanceand workplace matters.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities.
- Build, embed and continuously improve HR policies,systemsand frameworks.
- Manage employee records, HR systems and reporting, and support payroll administration.
- Drive initiatives that strengthen leadership capability, staffwellbeingand workplace culture.




- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, the SCHADS Award andorganisationalrequirements.
- Contribute to strategic planning as a member of the Management Team.

About You

We'relooking for someone who is practical,collaborativeand values-driven, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.You will bring:

- Experience in a senior HR or Human Resources Manager role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practice.
- Experience providing advice and support on employee relations, performancemanagementand workplace matters.
- Excellent communication, relationship-buildingand stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work both strategically and operationally in a small, collaborativeorganisation.
- A commitment to MLC's values and social justice mission.

Highly desirable:

- Experience working in the not-for-profit, communityservicesor community legal sector.
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and its application.
- Experience using Employment Hero, including HR and payroll functions.
