About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Medical Officer, the Senior General Practitioner will provide high-quality, evidence-based primary healthcare across acute, chronic, preventive and complex care presentations. This role is ideal for an experienced GP who is committed to culturally safe, patient-centred care and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Clinic hours
Monday–Friday: 7:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm (rostered asrequired)
Key responsibilities include
- Deliver evidence-based primary healthcare, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, preventive care and health promotion
- Provide culturally safe, patient-centred care that respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultural identity, health needs and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with nurses,
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners, allied health professionals and service partners.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, care plans, recalls, referrals, prescribing and appropriate Medicare billing
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, accreditation, risk management and compliance requirements.
What You'll Bring
- Robust clinical assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning and chronic disease management skills
- Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed and patient-centred healthcare
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner and demonstrated experience in general practice or comprehensive primary healthcare. (Mandatory)
- Current Queensland Open C Class Driver Licence, Blue Card and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain where applicable. (Mandatory)
