About the role
We are seeking a Registered Psychologist to join the psyché | logue team in South Brisbane on a contractor basis. This opportunity is ideal for clinicians looking for flexibility, professional support,
and the opportunity to build or expand a rewarding private practice within an established and growing clinic.
You will provide evidence-based assessment and therapeutic intervention to clients presenting with a diverse range of mental health concerns. Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, you will have the autonomy to manage your caseload while contributing to a practice committed to delivering exceptional client care.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention for a diverse client population.
- Develop individualised treatment plans tailored to each client's goals and presenting concerns.
- Provide therapeutic interventions using evidence-based approaches appropriate to your area of practice.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in accordance with AHPRA, Medicare, and skilled standards.
- Build strong therapeutic relationships through compassionate, ethical, and client-centred practice.
- Liaise with GPs, psychiatrists, allied health professionals, schools, and other referrers where appropriate to support coordinated care.
- Manage your clinical caseload independently while working collaboratively within the broader practice team.
- Participate in peer consultation, professional development, and clinical supervision where appropriate.
- Uphold the ethical standards and professional responsibilities of the Psychology Board of Australia.
What we're looking for
- Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Eligibility to provide Medicare-funded psychological services (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong assessment, formulation, and evidence-based therapeutic skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport across diverse client groups.
- A commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and client-centred practice.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team setting.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Experience in private practice is desirable but not essential.
- Interest or experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, trauma, neurodiversity, anxiety, mood disorders, or other specialist areas is welcomed.
