Oodnadatta Farms is a 15,000-hectare fully arable cropping aggregation located 35 kilometres north of Moree in the heart of the Golden Triangle. The business grows winter and summer cereals, pulses and cotton using controlled traffic farming systems, a modern John Deere machinery fleet and industry-leading precision agriculture technology.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day execution of the farm plan across all cropping operations.
This is a hands‑on leadership role with genuine autonomy. You will coordinate people, machinery and resources, make day‑to‑day operational decisions, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will lead and support a permanent team that expands to approximately 20 staff during peak operational periods.
This role suits an experienced broadacre operator who enjoys managing complex cropping programs, large machinery fleets and seasonal workforces while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency and operational excellence.

The Person
The successful applicant will be practical, organised and mechanically minded.
They will be comfortable making decisions, solving problems in the field and leading by example. They will remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively with a wide range of people and take ownership of outcomes.
You will:
Lead and support staff to achieve operational objectives.
Build trust through reliability, initiative, integrity and accountability.
Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills.
Manage repair and maintenance programs.
Maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
Work effectively with people of different ages, backgrounds and experience levels.
Have a genuine passion for machinery and farming operations.
Drive efficiency and continuous improvement across the business.
Minimum five years' experience managing broadacre cropping operations.
Extensive experience operating and managing harvest programs.
Minimum two years' header operating experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and machinery knowledge.
Experience leading and supervising farm staff.
Proficiency with John Deere Operations Centre, Agworld and SwarmView.
Current truck licence.
Strong understanding of modern farming technology and a willingness to embrace innovation.
Experience within a corporate farming environment.
Experience across both winter and summer cropping programs, including cotton.
Relevant machinery, safety and compliance qualifications.
