TheRole
TheAssociateHead ofSchool plays a supporting role in ensuring the School’s Vision,Purpose, and Values areoperationalised, fostering a dynamicand inclusive culture thatprioritisesstudent growth,staff collaboration, and parent engagement. Reporting tothe Deputy Head ofCampus - Head of School , thisrole provides pastoral and operational leadership of the Sub-Schoolwhile ensuring the seamless coordination of operations, andsignificant events, creating an environment where every student isknown, valued, and supported.
This Associate Head of Schoolposition is for the Year 7-8 Sub School at CaulfieldCampus.
As a member of the Campus LeadershipTeam, theAssociateHead of School works withtheDeputy Head of Campus - Headof School to lead theHeadsof House team, strengthening the school’s pastoral carestructures as well as supporting the teaching and learning team toalign school-wide academic priorities. By fostering collaborationacross pastoral and academic teams and supporting school-wide andCampus initiatives, this role delivers holistic support andenhanced outcomes for students.
This will be a 3-year fixed-term Positions of Responsibility (POR) commencing in January2027.
KeyResponsibilities
- Ensure Sub-School experiencesfoster an inclusive culture where all students feel safe,connected, and are known and valued by staff for their uniquecontributions.
- Contribute to the establishmentand implementation of Sub-School shared expectations andpriorities,
ensuring alignment with the school’s strategicdirection, and drive accountability for both you and team inachieving measurableoutcomes.
- Uphold high-performancestandards by providing ongoing support to Heads andwithaim of continuous improvement ofpractice.
- Support and foster staffwellbeing and a healthy workenvironment.
- Provide leadership and directionto the Heads ofHouse, andFaculty staff across thecampus with a focus of creating a strong vibrant learningculture
- Support DeputyHead of Campus - Head of School toprovidemeaningful student leadershipopportunities, actively guiding and empowering appointedstudent leaders.
- Ensure student voice isactivelysought, respected, and integratedasappropriate intodecision-making and contributesto shaping culture of the school
- Supportandparticipatein the recruitment and induction ofstaff across the campus to ensure a high-quality andwell-integrated team.
- Support staff developmentbyprovidingmeaningful professional learningopportunities that enhance teaching effectiveness and pastoralcare
- Model and live the CaulfieldGrammar School values andbehaviours
Key SelectionCriteria
- Tertiary qualifications inEducation (postgraduate qualificationsdesirable).
- Current Victorian Institute ofTeaching (VIT) registration
- Minimum 3 years proven record asan outstanding teacher.
- Some experience leading andfostering a collaborative, inclusive, trustingculture.
- Extensive experience insupporting staff,studentsand familiestofacilitatepositive studentoutcomes.
- Some experience incollaboratively leading social emotional learningprograms.
- Experience using proactive andresponsive strategies to manage significant student behaviouraland wellbeing concerns.
- Experience in building strongrelationships with and managing multiple stakeholders,including staff, students, parent/carer/guardianand thewider community
- Ability to drive change andinspire a culture of continuousimprovement.
- Ability to foster a culture ofcollaboration and shared responsibility for student success(including student pathways).
- Confident and articulatepublicspeakerwith solid written communicationskills.
