We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to play a critical role in managing and coordinating the full design lifecycle of high-end developments - from DA approval and CC attainment. This role is suited to someone who is technically strong, commercially aware, and passionate about quality outcomes.
THE ROLE
As Design Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the design process, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and to a high standard.
- Value engineering/management and project management of the whole design process
- Managing relationships with consultants/architects and the performance of external consultants
- Coordinate design activities to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and design budget objectives
- Manage the process of milestone design reviews, including ensuring that client sign-off is achieved and recorded at appropriate stages.
- Managing design in accordance with cost plans and construction programmes and monitor the quality throughout construction process
ABOUT YOU
- Degree in Construction Management,
Architecture, or equivalent
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Design Manager role (residential/mixed-use preferred)
- Strong knowledge of the BCA, Australian Standards, and NSW planning controls
- Solid understanding of exempt and complying development pathways
- Proven ability to coordinate consultants and liaise with authorities
- Strong technical documentation and design coordination capability
- Excellent attention to detail with a passion for high-quality finishes
- Proactive, confident, and able to show initiative
- Strong organisational skills to meet key program milestones
