We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Operator to join our food manufacturing facility based in Karawatha. The Technical Operator’s primary responsibility is to operate and maintain the efficiency of assigned production machinery. This hands-on role involves supporting the Operator Maintainer (OM) with technical adjustments while maintaining an unwavering commitment to food safety through compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard.

What you’ll be doing

- Conduct pre-operational checks by performing thorough pre-start inspections to ensure machinery is safe, clean, and correctly set up. Verify that raw materials, ingredients, and packaging match the production schedule and specifications.

- Operate and monitor production equipment, making operational adjustments under the guidance of the Operator Maintainer (OM) to ensure productive and consistent production.

- Conduct routine in-process quality inspections, including product weight, seal integrity, appearance, and labelling, to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

- Identify and respond to common machine alarms and stoppages, carrying out basic first-line troubleshooting and escalating more complex issues where required.

- Assist with the cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly of production equipment while adhering to GMP, hygiene, and food safety procedures.

- Accurately record production data using relevant systems (such as SCADA or MFG) to support traceability and production performance.

- Maintain clear communication with the Operator Maintainer and wider production team to ensure smooth operations.

About you

You will ideally have:

- Experience using production management systems such as SCADA, SAP, or similar.





- Previous hands‑on experience operating food processing equipment such as industrial kettles, continuous multi-stage fry lines, belt ovens, meat needling equipment, or vertical form fill seal machines.

- A minimum of 3 months’ experience in a high‑risk food manufacturing environment (such as dairy, ready‑to‑eat meals, or wet ingredient processing) with automated production equipment.

- Practical experience operating and monitoring Cleaning in Place (CIP) systems.

- Demonstrated understanding of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMP, and production reporting for traceability.

- The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
