Bremer Medical Centre – Practice Manager
Bremer Medical Centre (BMC) is a modern, mixed billing boutique general practice, located on the Ipswich CBD fringe in the picturesque grounds of USQ Ipswich campus. BMC, also known as the Ipswich GP Super clinic, in addition to a general practice has:
- Visiting health specialists from West Moreton HHS.
- Exact Radiology onsite with a full suite of services including MRI.

The Role
UQ Health Care is seeking applications from suitably qualified persons to undertake the role of Practice Manager Bremer Medical Centre. The Practice Manager will report to the General Manager and be responsible for the facilities, systems and workforce required for the successful operation of the service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly engaged practice manager to lead our dedicated team of GPs, nurses, reception staff and allied health professionals, to continually strive to make UQ Health Care a better place for employees to work, for clinicians to practice and for patients to receive care.
Key responsibilities
- Continue to build the practice into a thriving Medical and Specialist Centre
- Management of all business operations within the clinic, including IT, OHS, HR, Tenancy management and external stakeholder management
- Recruitment and retention of GPs
- Induction and training and new team members including GPs
- Generating efficiency and improvements through the development of staff and processes
- Driving innovation and best practice techniques
- Oversee and manage the clinic accreditation process
- Overseeing financial performance of the practice including annual budget preparation
- Develop the clinics yearly operations plan
- Be part of a team of PM’s and Ops Managers across the UQHC group and contribute to UQHC strategy plan
You will strive for excellence and drive outstanding performance of the service through solid leadership.
The Person
Applicants must have
- Previous practice management experience or highly experienced 2IC looking to step up into a PM role.
- Previous accreditation/quality management experience;
- A good working knowledge of computerised practice management and accounting systems. Experience with Best Practice (a must);
- Excellent organisational and time management skills;
- High level interpersonal skills to relate well to patients, staff, health care professionals and external stakeholders;
- Passion for your role to take pride in seeing the service grow and be successful.
Remuneration
This is a full time, continuing role. A competitive salary package will be negotiated, including ongoing professional development opportunities. As a Not for Profit with charitable status, you will be entitled to attractive salary sacrificing arrangements.
