This is a part‑time, fixed‑term contract opportunity to be part of a values‑led organisation committed to making a real difference in the lives of children and families.

This is a part‑time fixed‑term contract (3 days per week) until June 2027.

About the Role

- Establish direct links with young people referred to the project, either living at home or who have recently left home.
- Support young people to identify and address the issues related to them leaving home.
- Reduce isolation; promote independence, self‑esteem and positive problem solving.
- Assess and meet the individual needs of young people through the development, implementation and review of a client case plan in conjunction with the young person.
- Respond to client needs, such as temporary accommodation, family support, health, education and training and provide referral to other services where appropriate.
- Provide culturally appropriate support to young people and their families so as to address issues relating to the young person’s leaving home.
- Develop networks with relevant communities and advocate for the provision of culturally appropriate services to address the needs of young people and their families.

You’ll join a collaborative and supportive team delivering high‑quality, trauma‑informed services that uphold child safety, cultural safety, and family‑led practice.

Skills and Experience

- Diploma of Community Services or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant experience.
- Sound understanding of client vulnerabilities, including drug and alcohol use,



mental health challenges, and the impacts of trauma on children’s behaviour and development.
- Experience and ability to work with young people, particularly young people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Strong time‑management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to competing demands in a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities, including a strong understanding of cultural safety, self‑determination, and the historical and contemporary factors that impact Aboriginal peoples.
