Providential Homes Ltd is a faith based not for profit Community Housing Provider in Sydney, committed to providing crisis accommodation and support to individuals experiencing homelessness. We strive to create safe, supportive, and sustainable housing solutions for those in need.
We are seeking for 2 skilled and motivated Casework Support Workerto join our team on a part-time basis (25 hours per week). This role is critical in providing support and care to the guests in our accommodations. It will based out of our office in the South-West Sydney region, but guest support will need to be provided on location at each of our accommodations across the South West/South East Region. Occasional training or meetings may be held at other Providential offices which staff members may be required to attend.
Key Responsibilities
Determine future pathways / exit strategies for guests, working closely with the guests existing caseworkers and additional service providers
Connect and refer guests to appropriate services, providing assistance if necessary to complete forms, and assisting guests with their case plans provided by Homes NSW
Developing recent networks and expanding upon current relationships with regional support services, agencies and other providers.
Be prepared to enable guests to better access the services provided by Homes NSW
Provide ongoing documentation and liaison between Providential Homes and government agencies we work with,
including regular reporting and information on guest progress / outcomes
Foster positive relationships between Providential Homes and service providers
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
At least 1 years’ experience with case management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience and ability to work with people from culturally diverse backgrounds
Proven ability to respond and work within complex trauma, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs, Domestic Violence and other mitigating needs.
Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and social services practices or policies.
High standard of professional ethical behaviour and sound understanding of boundary issues.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Strong time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to competing demands in a dynamic work environment.
Relevant qualifications in social work/case work
Must have current, validAustralian Drivers Licence and their own car
Must be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check
