About the Role
As a Tour Guide, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences from the moment visitors arrive. You will guide guests through our spectacular cave system, share fascinating stories about the caves' geology, history and wildlife, and assist in delivering a variety of experiences ranging from leisurely walking tours to adventurous caving activities.
Every day is different, and no two tours are ever the same.
No prior cave knowledge is necessary. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a confident and engaging guide.
Essential Skills and Attributes
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a good level of fitness and can participate in all tours offered by the business, including walking, climbing and crawling activities.
- Is willing to learn caving techniques and participate in experiences involving narrow passages, rock formations and tunnel systems.
- Has a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
- Enjoys engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and age groups.
- Is a team player with a positive attitude.
- Is adaptable and versatile in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrates initiative and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
- Maintains a high standard of personal presentation.
- Can confidently solve problems and respond effectively to changing situations.
- Is available to work across a seven-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Possesses basic computer literacy.
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Previous tour guiding experience.
- Experience within tourism, hospitality or outdoor recreation industries.
- Knowledge of geology, caves, wildlife or the natural environment.
Full training will be provided to successful applicants.
Conditions of Employment
Applicants must:
- Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (or be eligible to obtain one).
- Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport.
- Be willing and able to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
- Hold a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Hold a Safe Food Handling certificate (or be willing to obtain one).
