Strategic Risk, Assurance and Compliance Manager

Redeemer Lutheran College is one of Queensland's leading independent Christian co‑educational schools, providing excellence in education within a strong faith‑based community. As we continue to grow and strengthen our governance and strategic capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Strategic Risk, Assurance & Compliance Manager to join our leadership team.

This is a newly created senior role that will provide College‑wide leadership across risk management, governance, compliance and assurance. Reporting to the Principal and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and College Council, you will help shape the College's future by ensuring robust governance frameworks, informed decision‑making and a proactive risk‑aware culture.

About the Role

You will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and governance assurance across the College's risk and compliance landscape.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading and continuously improving the College's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework
- Advising senior leaders and College Council on strategic, regulatory and emerging risks
- Overseeing risk registers, control frameworks, assurance activities and compliance reporting
- Leading governance, audit and assurance programs
- Ownership of Workplace Health & Safety and emergency management frameworks
- Driving policy governance, document control and compliance monitoring processes
- Supporting privacy, information governance and regulatory compliance obligations
- Coordinating accreditation and regulatory assurance activitiesBuilding organisational capability and fostering a strong risk and compliance culture across the College

About You





You are a confident and influential leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical implementation. You are highly skilled at translating complex legislative and governance requirements into meaningful business outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Significant experience in a senior risk, compliance, governance or assurance role
- Tertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Governance, Law, Business, WHS or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing enterprise risk management frameworks
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance and assurance principles
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Experience preparing reports and presenting complex information to executives, boards or governing bodies
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
- Professional certification in Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or Workplace Health & Safety
- Experience within education, not‑for‑profit or member‑based organisations
- Knowledge of school accreditation and education sector compliance requirements
