Hart Rural Agencies is seeking an experienced Sales Agronomist to join our team. This is a full-time position that combines technical agronomic expertise with a consultative sales approach throughout our three locations (Barraba, Manilla and Bingara NSW). As a Sales Agronomist, you will be instrumental in supporting our farming clients by providing expert agronomic advice whilst driving business growth and client relationships. This role sits at the intersection of technical knowledge and commercial success, making it vital to our operations and our customers' productivity.

Key responsibilities

- Provide expert agronomic advice and recommendations to farming clients, supporting their decision-making on crop selection, soil management and farming practices
- Identify client needs and develop tailored solutions that align with their farming objectives and operational requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients through regular farm visits and consultations
- Promote and sell Hart Rural Agencies products and services, including seeds, fertilisers, crop protection products and other agricultural inputs
- Conduct soil testing, crop assessments and other diagnostic work to inform agronomic recommendations
- Stay current with agronomic research, industry developments and best practice farming techniques
- Prepare reports and documentation for clients, detailing agronomic recommendations and outcomes
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client needs are met and sales targets are achieved
- Represent Hart Rural Agencies at industry events, field days and community functions

What we're looking for

- A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Agronomy or a related discipline
- Proven experience working as an Agronomist or in an agricultural advisory role
- Strong technical knowledge of crop production, soil science and farm management practices relevant to the region
- Demonstrated ability to combine technical expertise with effective sales and client relationship management




- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex agronomic concepts clearly to farmers and stakeholders
- Sound knowledge of agricultural products and inputs commonly used in farming operations
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly to client farms
- Solid problem-solving abilities and a consultative approach to supporting clients
- Proficiency with computer systems and agricultural software platforms
- Experience in the New England or Northern Tablelands region is highly desirable
