About the role
Work Monday to Friday, from 5am-1pm
You will be joining a team of five Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) professionals, working in a energetic and fast-growing multinational company. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to advance their career in food quality.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Completing raw material, finished product and packaging testing and release, ensuring all products comply with their stated specifications
- Batch sheet documentation control and maintenance, data entry and CoA creation
- Identifying and reporting trends in quality data, complaints or non-conformances
- Supporting or delivering staff training on food safety, hygiene, allergen handling and quality procedures
- Conducting internal audits and inspections (Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), glass and brittle plastics, allergen verification, etc.)
- Supporting the QC team with calibration, equipment verification and shelf-life studies
- Initiating the hold process for non-conforming product or equipment, and raising non-conformance reports for any supplier failures
- Maintaining controlled documents, supplier documents and CoAs
- Assisting with the third-party microbiological testing regime and site environmental monitoring system (microbiological, allergens)
- Monitoring production, noting any quality or hygiene problems or deviations from specified procedure, and reporting to the Production Supervisor / Manager
- Supporting the Change Management programme (Amendments) by reviewing and updating packing specifications and QC documentation, and completing label reviews
- Supporting with verification studies
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- QA/QC experience within the food industry
- Tertiary education in a relevant field — food science and technology, microbiology or food engineering
- Experience and familiarity with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (BRCGS)
- Lean Manufacturing experience or knowledge (advantageous)
