Interspec Custom Joinery is looking for an experienced cabinetmaker to join our team in a senior workshop role.
We specialise in high-end custom residential joinery, with the occasional premium commercial project. Quality is everything we do. We're not a volume production factory—we build bespoke kitchens, wardrobes, wine cellars, entertainment units and custom architectural joinery to an exceptional standard.
We're looking for someone who leads by example. A tradesman who enjoys mentoring others, sharing their knowledge, and setting the standard for quality while still being happy to roll up their sleeves and work on the tools when required.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position based in our workshop. You'll help oversee production, maintain quality standards, mentor apprentices and tradesmen, and jump onto the bench whenever needed to keep projects moving.
You'll be a key part of building a positive workshop culture where quality, efficiency and craftsmanship come first.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manufacturing high-end custom residential joinery
- Producing detailed bespoke work using veneers, laminates and solid timber
- Reading and interpreting shop drawings
- Mentoring apprentices and developing the skills of our workshop team
- Leading by example through hands‑on cabinetmaking
- Assisting with workshop planning and production workflow
- Operating modern workshop machinery including CNC, edge bander and panel saws where required
- Maintaining exceptional quality standards across every project
What We're Looking For
- Qualified cabinetmaker with extensive industry experience
- Proven experience producing high‑end custom joinery
- Someone who enjoys teaching and mentoring others
- Strong leadership skills without relying on micromanagement
- Willingness to jump on the bench and manufacture alongside the team whenever required
- Ability to read shop drawings and solve problems independently
- High attention to detail and genuine pride in your workmanship
- Experience with CNC machinery and contemporary manufacturing processes is highly regarded
