We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Container Unloading Operative to join the team at PROPER DEVANNING GROUP in Brisbane. This is a full-time position based at our facility Port of Brisbane. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and effective unloading of containers, ensuring that all goods are handled correctly and that our warehouse operations run smoothly. This position is vital to our logistics operations and directly impacts the efficiency of our supply chain and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
Unloading containers using appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques in compliance with health and safety regulations
Inspecting goods upon arrival to identify any damage or discrepancies and reporting these to management
Sorting and organising unloaded items for proper storage and distribution
Maintaining accurate records of goods received and processed
Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently
Ensuring all containers are emptied completely and cleaned appropriately after unloading
Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily unloading targets and deadlines
Adhering to all health, safety and environmental procedures at all times
What we're looking for
Physical fitness and capability to perform manual labour, including lifting and moving heavy items regularly
Experience in container unloading, warehousing or a similar logistics role
Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts,
with relevant certifications preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in identifying and recording goods
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Reliability and commitment to maintaining punctuality and attendance
Understanding of health and safety procedures in warehouse environments
Flexibility to work shifts as required by operational needs
A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to take on additional responsibilities
