Production Planner

King Bars is a proudly Queensland owned manufacturer of premium bull bars, supplying customers across Australia. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an organised and proactive Production Planner who can bring structure, visibility and control to our manufacturing operations.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex scheduling challenges, coordinating multiple departments and ensuring production runs efficiently. You'll become the central link between Sales, Purchasing, Production and Fitting, helping deliver exceptional customer outcomes through effective planning.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that balance customer demand, material availability and manufacturing capacity.

You'll monitor workflow, adjust priorities as operational requirements change and ensure production plans remain realistic and achievable.

This is a hands-on planning role where you'll have genuine influence over operational performance and play a key role in improving productivity, workflow stability and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain daily and forward production schedules.

- Sequence work to maximise efficiency and minimise production bottlenecks.

- Coordinate labour, materials and equipment requirements.

- Work closely with Sales, Purchasing, Production and Fitting to ensure alignment across departments.

- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to changing priorities, stock shortages or operational disruptions.





- Maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and support inventory planning.

- Report on production performance, schedule attainment and planning exceptions.

- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes and operational efficiency.

About You

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting and enjoys creating order from complexity.

You'll ideally have:

- Experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing Scheduling, Operations Coordination or Supply Chain Planning.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, capacity planning and production scheduling.

- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems.

- Knowledge of inventory management, BOMs and material planning.

- Excellent organisational and analytical skills.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.

- The ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently adjust priorities when required.

- A continuous improvement mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Experience within fabrication, manufacturing or workshop environments will be highly regarded.
