As we continue to invest in the growth of our Cardboard & Consumables division nationally, we are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the Sydney Metro market.
This is a genuine opportunity to become part of a national team focused exclusively on expanding our cardboard and consumables category, backed by strong operational capability, procurement support and national leadership.
About the Role
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing market share across Sydney through a combination of:
New business development and account acquisition
Developing existing UBEECO and Gilmores customer relationships
Identifying opportunities to expand packaging consumable and cardboard sales
Conducting site audits and recommending packaging improvements
Preparing quotations, proposals and tender submissions
Managing a structured sales pipeline and delivering sustainable growth
Work closely with our national Cardboard & Consumables team, sharing opportunities, supporting one another and helping grow strategic customer accounts across Australia.
While your primary territory will be Sydney Metro, occasional interstate travel may be required as part of your involvement within the national Cardboard & Consumables team.
About You
Direct industry experience is an essential requirement for this role.
You must have a minimum of two years’ proven sales experience in either cardboard packaging or packaging consumables. Applicants with general sales experience but no direct experience in these categories will not be considered.
Your experience must include selling and advising customers on products such as:
Stretch wrap and films
Packaging and specialty tapes
Strapping
Protective packaging
Cardboard packaging solutions
You will understand packaging applications, customer operations and how to identify solutions that reduce costs, improve efficiency and deliver measurable value.
You will also be:
A proven Business Development Manager with a strong new-business focus
Commercially driven and motivated by winning new accounts
Experienced in solution-based and technical selling
Confident conducting site inspections, packaging audits and customer reviews
A strong relationship builder who can engage at all levels
Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
Organised, with strong CRM, quoting and pipeline management skills
A team player who enjoys collaborating across a national sales network
