Validation Specialist (Technical Services)

As SVA celebrates more than 20 years as Australia's leading provider of independent Performance Qualification (Validation) services within the healthcare sector, we continue to grow and are seeking a technically minded professional to join our Technical Services team.

About the Role

SVA works within hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Australia, testing and validating critical equipment used in the cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of reusable medical devices.

As a Validation Specialist (Technical Services), you will undertake testing, measurement and performance verification activities on specialised healthcare equipment including:

- Washer Disinfectors
- Low Temperature Vapourised Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilizers

You will collect and analyse technical data, assess equipment performance and process efficacy against recognised Standards and prepare detailed reports that support safe and effective patient care. The role combines hands-on technical work, problem-solving, data analysis and client interaction.

As this role involves regular attendance at hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout Australia, successful applicants must be willing and able to meet the vaccination, screening and healthcare worker compliance requirements stipulated by individual health services and facility operators.

Evidence of vaccination status, immunity and other site-specific compliance requirements is required prior to commencing work at certain client locations.

Applicants with experience in the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply:

- Medical equipment servicing, maintenance or installation
- Electrical, electronics or instrumentation trades
- Mechanical trades or equipment maintenance
- Industrial testing, calibration or commissioning
- Field service technician positions
- Technical roles within healthcare or medical device industries

We provide comprehensive technical training, clinical education and ongoing professional development. We can teach healthcare sterilization and validation methodologies—the ideal candidate will already possess strong technical aptitude, a methodical approach and a desire to continually learn.

Travel Requirements

This position involves regular travel to healthcare facilities throughout Australia.

Applicants must be willing to travel, including overnight stays of up to four consecutive weeknights. During busier periods, this can occur several times each month. In recognition of the travel commitment involved, SVA offers generous RDO and travel allowance benefits.
