The Co-operative Life is an employee-owned social care co-operative supporting people with dementia and neurological conditions to live meaningful, connected lives in the community.
We operate modern, home-like Support Independent Living (SIL) accommodations across the Blacktown region (Marsden Park, Melonba, Tallawong, Riverstone) providing person-centred support, dignity, and genuine choice for the people we serve. TCL supports people living with dementia and a range of neurological conditions, including Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease and Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
We are seeking a dedicatedFemale Support Workerto join our team in ourSupport Independent Living (SIL) homes.
*Looking for a female candidate as this is a part of the genuine on-job and client-driven requirement
This position reports to a Lead Support Worker/Regional Manager. Permanent part time/Casual.
SCHADS awardperiodic (hourly) pay ratesand benefits are applicable for the right candidates.
- PreviousSupport Worker experience – preferably in physical disabilities, Acquired Brain injuries and Psychosocial/Mental Health Disabilities.
Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement
NDIS Worker Clearance
THE ROLE:
You will be working within a homelikeSIL accommodation, providing high-quality, person-centred support including:
Daily living support
Community access
Assistance with mobility, communication, and cognitive changes
Positive engagement and meaningful activities
Working collaboratively with the house team to create a protected, warm and supportive home
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience – in disability support
Proof of 3 doses COVID19 Vaccination requirement being met (including of the validation of the medical exemptions, if any) under the NSW Public Health Order
In-depth understanding of NDIS industry requirements
In-depth person-centred support experience
Empathy and the ability to build strong relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have a reliable, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
Must have a current validNSW Australian Driver's Licence
Own a smart phone with Internet access.
Current NDIS Clearance (which replaced National Police Clearance)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Valid working rights within Australia
You will be working within a homelike SIL accommodation, providing high-quality, person-centred support including:
Daily living support

Assistance with mobility, communication, and cognitive changes
Positive engagement and meaningful activities
Working collaboratively with the house team to create a safe, warm and supportive home
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.
High level of stress resilience and emotional intelligence.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and use initiative.
Strong communication skills and active listening skills.
