About the role:

The HR / Office Manager coordinates all aspects of our Human resources function and Head Office Administration tasks. The role is full time permanent reporting to the Chief Executive Officer within our corporate office based in Coopers Plains, Queensland.

Key responsibilities include:

Role Specific Duties

- Provide advice on best practice HR / IR activities to UML staff
- Process employee change of conditions requests
- Monitor employee disciplinary actions
- Conduct Exit Interviews
- Maintain and distribute company position descriptions
- Maintain company employment contracts, forms, policies and procedures.
- Coordinate Enterprise Agreement negotiations when required and ensure ongoing compliance
- Maintain company policies and processes to comply with legislative changes.
- Administration tasks, monitoring corporate inbox, collecting and distributing mail, booking freight, building maintenance management, company credit card registration and cancellations.
- Travel request bookings (Airfares, accommodation and car hire)
- Purchasing, manage ordering of company PPE, Stationery, Staff Amenities, Packaging and uniforms.
- Manage National Preferred Suppliers & National Pricing contracts for PPE, Stationery, Staff Amenities, Packaging and uniforms.
- Supervise and support recruitment officer in recruitment processes,



maintaining accuracy with legislative changes.
- Review Recruitment and HR practices for continuous improvement and achievement of business objectives.
- Assist Payroll Manager as required.
- Adherence to and active promotion of UML's Occupational Health Safety and Environmental (OHS&E;) policies / procedures.
- Additional duties within scope and experience as requested by CEO.

Recording and Reporting

- Build UML's reputation as an employer of choice through our Recruitment / HR processes and procedures.
- Strive for continuous improvement in Recruitment and HR to support business objectives.
- Report all workplace issues, including behaviours that make you feel uncomfortable or appear to be contrary to UML policies
- Record and report all issues that impact the ability to perform the required duties

Compliance

- Comply with all UML Policies, Procedures and Cardinal Safety Rules
- Comply with current legislation as required of your role
- Follow direct instructions

Waste

- Identify and report any unnecessary waste - Provide specific examples
- Report areas of improvement within the business to management

Environment and Tools

- Ensure that you are presenting a friendly demeanour and a positive, helpful attitude.
- Assist the business with additional duties that are asked of you within,



but not limited to your experience or range of knowledge.
- Ensure that your work area is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Ensure that your work tools (vehicle / laptop / mobile phone) are operated with respect and maintained to the highest standard.

Training

- Assist as required with training and instruction to recent employees in the performance of their roles as requested by management.
- Maintain individual skills to the level expected by changing technology by actively attending and participating in any relevant training programs.

About the candidate:

- Demonstrated Human Resources experience, minimum 5 years.
- Completed Business / Human Resource Management studies (or related tertiary studies)
- Working knowledge of current Australian IR legislation
- A strong understanding and experience of Employment laws; Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- A working knowledge of Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award and Clerks - Private Sector Award (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong Confidentiality skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines
- Ability to respond to a changing work environment.
- Company uniform
