Well established builder developer that specialise in the delivery of medium rise apartment developments are looking for a Design Manager to lead their Design team.
They have won multiple award and have collaborated with some of the most reputable architects in Sydney. Depending on the project you can be working on their own developments or on projects for some of their prestigious clients.
The Role
As their Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the integration of design and cost planning functions throughout the pre-construction and delivery phases of projects.
You will be managing their existing design team and will liaise with the pre-construction and project delivery teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Lead the design team in the successful delivery of the design process through comprehensive interaction with the Client, Consultants, relevant Authorities, construction team and other stakeholders.
- Select, engage and manage consultants and coordinate the documentation process with consultants, ensure all relevant aspects of their duties are completed correctly.
- Run design meetings. Follow up issues raised by consultants.
- Manage the CC process
- Hand over documentation to the construction team and assist them during construction on design queries.
- Review detailed designs, Development Consent and other official documents.
- Ensure all plans adhere to the Building Regulations (NCC), Australian Standards and reflect best practice.
- Maintain relationships with design partners.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Architecture
- Registered Design Practitioner is ideal
- Have extensive experience managing the design process for D&C; in Class 2 projects
- Extensive experience managing the CC process or complex apartment projects.
- Excellent Document control skills with Procore or Aconex
