We are seeking an experienced and motivatedStatutory Surveyorto ensure the mine’s survey function meets all statutory requirements under the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and Regulations. The Statutory Surveyor is responsible for the accuracy, certification, and maintenance of the official mine plans and spatial data and provides authoritative technical oversight for all survey activities at CSA.
Roster:
This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6 days FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure statutory compliance by fulfilling legal duties, maintaining accurate mine plans, and submitting required reports.
- Oversee the integrity of spatial data, survey control networks, and methodologies; approve final plans and datasets.
- Provide expert advice on survey accuracy, design conformance, and spatial risks; lead investigations into survey issues.
- Lead and mentor the survey team, establishing standards, procedures, and quality assurance processes.
- Coordinate survey activities to support development, production, and infrastructure projects; integrate survey needs into planning.
- Manage survey equipment, software, and systems; drive continuous improvement in survey processes and data management.
Qualifications
About You:
- Extensive expereince in underground hard-rock mining survey operations
- Advanced capability with survey instruments, drone and LiDAR technology, and mine planning / survey
- Recognised qualification in Mine Surveying, Spatial Science, or equivalent
- Registered as a Statutory Mine Surveyor undr NSW legislation
- Robust understanding of WHS (Mines & Petroleum Sites) legislation and statutory survey obligations
- Communicates clearly and confidently with operational and technical stakeholders
- Demonstrtated stronf risk awareness and sound judgement in technical decision making
