ConsultJR Engineering Services in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane is growing its control systems capability and is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with approximately 3 to 5 years’ programming experience across PLC, SCADA and industrial automation systems.

One of ConsultJR’s key deliverables to clients, many of them vital asset owners, is the ability to integrate controls and electrical engineering in-house, solve complex technical problems, and support practical outcomes across critical infrastructure and industrial environments.

This requires engineers who are not only technically capable, but practical, curious and robust communicators. You will work with clients, site teams, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams to help deliver control systems that are robust, functional and fit for real-world operation.

Key technical skills and experience:

- PLC and SCADA systems
- Industrial automation systems




- Instrumentation interfaces
- Motor control and VSD integration
- Communications networks
- Operational technology systems
- FAT, SAT and commissioning support
- Control philosophies and functional descriptions
- Cause and effect matrices
- I/O schedules
- Alarm registers
- Communications architecture diagrams
- Network layouts
- Testing and commissioning documentation

Experience with platforms such as Rockwell / Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Ignition, CitectSCADA, Rockwell PanelView, ClearSCADA / GeoSCADA, SCADAPack or Brodersen would be highly regarded.

This role would suit a practical, detail-focused engineer who enjoys solving problems, asking good questions, working with multiple stakeholders, and helping clients improve the performance, reliability and operation of critical assets.
