About the role

We are seeking a hands-on Power BI Developer / Data Analyst to join our Data team on an initial 6-month contract, with potential to extend.

The role will support business reporting, dashboard development, data analysis and data quality improvements. Working closely with the Head of Data, you will clarify requirements, validate data logic and deliver accurate, user-friendly reporting solutions.

Location: Artarmon, NSW / Hybrid

Contract: 6-month contract, with potential extension

Reporting to: Head of Data

Focus: Power BI reporting, SQL, data modelling, data validation and business intelligence support

Key responsibilities

Develop, maintain and enhance Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models and datasets.

Work with the Head of Data to clarify reporting requirements, business logic and priorities.

Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform and validate data.

Build and maintain DAX measures, Power Query transformations and Power BI data models.

Investigate data quality issues, validate source data and reconcile report outputs.

Improve existing reports for layout, performance, usability and accuracy.

Document report logic, data definitions, calculations and technical processes.

Support ad hoc data analysis, reporting automation and routine operational data tasks as required.

Skills and experience

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including report development,



data modelling, DAX and Power Query.

Strong SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, aggregations, data validation and troubleshooting.

Ability to interpret requirements and convert them into practical reporting solutions.

High attention to detail, particularly around data accuracy, reconciliation and calculation logic.

Transparent communication skills and the ability to explain findings to technical and semi-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks and follow agreed priorities.

Experience with cloud data warehouse platforms, such as Snowflake.

Experience with Power BI Service, scheduled refresh, workspace management, row-level security and deployment processes.

Understanding of report documentation, data lineage and source-to-report validation.

Willingness to work in an AI-enabled data environment and adopt AI-assisted ways of working.

About you

You are a practical, detail-focused Power BI and SQL professional who can quickly understand existing reports, data structures and business logic. You work independently, ask clear questions and deliver reliable reporting outcomes.

Initial 6-month contract with potential to extend.

Hybrid working arrangement based in Artarmon, NSW.

Collaborative work with the Head of Data and key business stakeholders.
