Position Overview
VBP Interiors – an Australian joinery and interior fit-out specialist delivering tailored solutions across commercial, retail, healthcare, hospitality and residential environments. The company combines skilled craftsmanship, precision manufacturing and end-to-end project delivery to produce functional, high-quality interiors. As a Joiner at VBP Interiors, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, finishing and installing custom joinery and interior fit-out components.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Interpret shop drawings, plans, specifications and job instructions to determine materials, dimensions and production requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and prepare timber, laminates and manufactured board products using hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery.
- Manufacture and assemble custom joinery components, including cabinetry, counters, shelving, wall panels, display units and fitted furniture.
- Construct joinery using suitable joints, fixings, adhesives and assembly methods to meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Fit and adjust hardware and accessories, including hinges, drawer runners, handles, locks,
brackets and other specialised fittings.
- Complete sanding, edging, trimming, laminating and other finishing work to achieve accurate dimensions and a high-quality finish.
- Install joinery and interior fit-out components on site, ensuring items are level, aligned, securely fixed and finished correctly.
- Inspect completed work, identify defects or inconsistencies and carry out repairs, adjustments or modifications where required.
- Coordinate with supervisors, project teams, installers and other trades to support production schedules and installation deadlines.
- Operate and maintain tools, machinery and equipment safely, and keep workshop and site work areas clean and organised.
- Complete job records, material usage information and quality checks in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Joiner.
- Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings, plans and technical specifications.
- Practical experience using woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools safely and accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Valuable communication, teamwork and time-management skills.
Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $79,000 – $90,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week. ZAMB0005
