About the role
The Voice and Video Conferencing Engineer is responsible for supporting and enhancing the organisation’s Microsoft Teams voice and video collaboration platforms. This role focuses on Microsoft Teams Phone, Teams Rooms, Direct Routing, SBCs and conferencing technologies ensuring reliable, secure and high-quality communication services while collaborating with internal stakeholders, global IT teams, and external vendors.
About you
Proven experience in a Voice and Video Conferencing Engineer or similar role.
Hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft Teams Phone and Microsoft Teams Rooms environments.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams Admin Centre, Direct Routing, Auto Attendants, Call Queues, Voice Policies and PowerShell administration.
Experience with SIP, VoIP, PSTN services, call routing, dial plans and voice networking within enterprise environments.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve voice quality,
call flow and unified communications issues.
Proven experience managing incidents, resolving technical issues and providing high-quality end-user support.
Knowledge of Session Border Controller (SBC) technologies including AudioCodes and Cisco CUBE.
Understanding of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco voice platforms and legacy telephony environments is highly regarded.
Experience supporting telephony migration, coexistence and transition projects to Microsoft Teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with local and global IT teams.
Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, or Unified Communications certifications will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities of the position
Maintain high levels of voice system availability, performance and resilience.
Deploy, support and maintain corporate IT standards and technologies.
Manage, troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
Collaborate with technical teams on both project initiatives and business-as-usual (BAU) activities.
Install,
configure and upgrade systems as required.
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, fixes and technical solutions within the IT Knowledge Base.
Prioritise business-critical issues and prioritize when necessary.
Participate in problem resolution, testing, workaround development and technology improvement initiatives.
