About Shear

Shear Community Services is a Sunshine Coast based specialist Positive Behaviour Support practice supporting NDIS participants across South East Queensland.

At Shear Community Services, we've built a specialist Positive Behaviour Support practice around clinical quality, not case volume.

We're a small, close knit team where you'll know everyone, have direct access to leadership, and receive the support you need to do your best work. We believe great outcomes come from well supported practitioners, realistic caseloads, and the time to deliver quality support.

We're looking for a Behaviour Support Practitioner who wants meaningful clinical work backed by a team that genuinely invests in its people.

Your Options

Full-Time Employment

$90,000–$120,000 + superannuation

Ideal for practitioners looking for a long term clinical home with the stability of employment, full entitlements and ongoing professional support.

Contractor

$112–$136/hr based on experience and NDIS Commission registration level.

Ideal for experienced practitioners wanting flexibility without sacrificing clinical support.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work with a varied caseload of NDIS participants across the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions, completing functional behaviour assessments, developing behaviour support plans, coaching participants and their support networks, and supporting positive behaviour change in everyday environments.

We manage referrals, onboarding and much of the behind the scenes coordination, allowing you to spend more time focused on quality clinical work and participant outcomes.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from Core, Proficient and Advanced registered Behaviour Support Practitioners. Experience is preferred but not essential — if you’re at Core level and genuinely committed to developing your practice in a supported setting, we’d love to hear from you.

You’ll have:

- Current registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

- A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Developmental Education or a related field.

- Experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support within the NDIS.

- Strong assessment, report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.

- Current Australian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.

- An ABN, or willingness to obtain, if applying as a contractor.
