What you'll be doing:
- Provide high-quality mechanical services and repairs to a range of vehicles.
- Supervise and mentor junior mechanics to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, and suspension systems.
- Preform scheduled maintenance and inspections to identify and address potential problems before they escalated.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of work carried out.
- Use advanced diagnostic equipment and tools to efficiently identify and resolve complex vehicle faults.
- Road testing vehicles and conducting quality checks on all work.
- Ensure workshop is kept clean, tidy and well-organised to support efficient operations.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant automotive industry regulations and safety standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies, techniques, and industry regulations.
What we're looking for:
- Qualified automotive mechanic
- Current and valid manual driver's licence and your own tools.
- Wheel alignment experience an advantage but not essential.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members.
- Keen attention to detail and a commitment to provide the ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
- Air Conditioning Licence an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues.
- Up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies, safety regulations and industry best practices. Repair and replace worn or defective parts, reassemble mechanical components, and refer to service manuals as needed.
- Preform scheduled maintenance services (oil changes, lubrication) to ensure smooth operation and compliance with pollution regulations.
- Detect, diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, instrumentation, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
- Must be an Australian Citizen.
- Own reliable transport to and from work.
