Your Dog Coach are seeking experienced Balanced Dog Trainers to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Brisbane, QLD, this is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of dogs and their owners. As a Dog Trainer, you will be at the forefront of our mission to provide professional, humane, and effective dog training services. You will work directly with dogs and their families, designing and implementing tailored training programmes that address behavioural challenges and enhance the human-canine bond. This role is crucial to our reputation for excellence and effective behavioural modification.

What you'll be doing

Assess individual dogs' behaviour, temperament, and training needs through comprehensive consultations with owners

Develop and implement customised training plans tailored to each dog's specific requirements and the owner's goals

Conduct one-on-one training sessions using balanced training methods

Educate dog owners on effective training techniques, behavioural management, and ongoing reinforcement strategies

Work with dogs displaying various behavioural issues including aggression, anxiety, recall problems, and socialisation challenges

Monitor progress and adjust training programmes as needed to ensure optimal outcome

Provide professional advice and guidance to clients on puppy training, obedience, and behavioural concerns

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in your care at all times

Represent Your Dog Coach professionally and uphold our standards of animal welfare and ethical training practices

What we're looking for

Recognised qualification in dog training or animal behaviour from an accredited institution

Proven experience working as a professional dog trainer, ideally with a minimum of 2-3 years' hands‑on experience

Expert knowledge of balanced training methods

Solid understanding of canine psychology, behaviour, and body language





Strong communication skills with the ability to explain training concepts clearly to dog owners of varying backgrounds

Excellent patience, empathy, and genuine passion for assisting dogs and their owners

Physical fitness and agility to work with dogs of all sizes and energy levels

Current First Aid certification (human and/or animal) is highly desirable

Current Working with Children Check (if applicable to your state) or willingness to obtain one

Professional liability insurance or willingness to obtain it

Reliable transport and flexibility to potentially visit clients' homes or other locations as required

A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the industry
