Join one of Queensland’s leading pathology teams and play a vital role in the journey of every specimen. We’re looking for dedicated Pathology Service Assistants to join our Rockhampton Preanalytical Team.

In this fast-paced, hands-on role, you’ll be the crucial link between specimen collection and laboratory testing. Ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service. Key Responsibilities

- Provide compassionate and professional service to all patients and colleagues
- Manage incoming phone calls and respond promptly to enquiries
- Receive, unpack, and accurately receipt pathology specimens
- Prepare, process, and distribute specimens for testing
- Perform pre-analytical procedures including centrifuging and aliquoting
- Safely lift and carry eskies as part of specimen handling requirements
- Register and accurately enter specimen data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Maintain precision and attention to detail in all documentation and data entry tasks
- Perform courier duties collecting specimens from our collection centres, doctors surgeries and hospitals. Driver’s license will be required for this role.

- A high level of commitment to accuracy, laboratory turnaround times, and customer service
- Comfort with manual handling and being on your feet for extended periods

To be successful in this role,



you will need to demonstrate the following:

- Proven keyboard and data entry skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced, professional team environment
- A strong commitment to quality customer service
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop your skills.

You’ll also need the flexibility to work a range of shift times between 7:30am – 8:00pm, Monday to Friday, and participate in a weekend roster.
