About Country Club and the new Championship Golf Course:
At Country Club Tasmania, we’re building something truly special, a new championship golf course designed to rival some of the world’s best.
Created by globally respected architect Robin Gibson, our new par-72, 18-hole Championship Course will be situated within a beautifully landscaped parkland precinct, inspired by some of the finest courses in North America and the UK. Make no mistake, what’s coming is a landmark in every sense of the word. It’s a course that rewards thoughtful play and invites golfers to return again and again.
Scheduled to open in Summer 2026/27, we are seeking a skilled and motivated mechanic to ensure all equipment is maintained to premium standards.
We’re also investing in the future of the course, with a comprehensive machinery replacement program underway and upgrades to our Agronomy Office to create a modern, purpose-built operational hub for the team.
What you can expect in a day in the role:
In this practical, technically focused role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our new Championship Course operating at a world-class standard. Working alongside the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, you’ll ensure all turf machinery and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and consistently performing at their best.
Your day may include:
- Conducting repairs and preventative maintenance on mowers, tractors, golf carts, gators, sprayers, and small engines.
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimise downtime and keep the course in premium condition.
- Maintaining detailed service logs, repair records, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Monitoring workshop inventory, ordering parts,
- Keep workshop organised, protected, and compliant, with tools and equipment stored correctly. Upholding strict workplace health, safety, and environmental standards in all activities.
- Supporting operators with training on proper equipment use to reduce wear, breakdowns, and repair time.
- Reporting major mechanical faults or safety issues to the Assistant Superintendent.
What you’ll bring to the role:
The successful candidate will be a technically skilled and safety focused mechanic with a passion for maintaining high-performance turf equipment in a premium golf environment.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems. Hands‑on mechanical experience within a golf course, turf, agricultural, or heavy equipment setting is ideal.
- Strong diagnostic capability across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs, service documentation, and workshop record‑keeping.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information.
- Strong organisational skills, detail‑oriented with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Qualifications
- Trade qualification in diesel mechanics, turf equipment, or small engine mechanics.
- Current full Australian driver’s licence and forklift licence.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
An appointee to this role may be subject to pre‑employment and ongoing screening checks.
