McCauley’s Bistro has become a club favourite within the Illawarra, offering quality meals at affordable prices in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
In addition to our busy bistro, the Club also hosts a range of functions and events throughout the year.
We are currently looking for a Cook / Kitchen Hand to join our kitchen team. This is a hands‑on role supporting the preparation and service of meals while helping keep the kitchen running smoothly.
The Role
- Assist with food preparation and cooking during service
- Support the kitchen team during busy bistro and function service
- Take customer orders and process transactions using the point‑of‑sale (POS) system as required
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen
- Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen duties as required
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards
- Help with stock rotation and basic food storage
What a Typical Shift Might Look Like
You might start your shift helping prep ingredients for the bistro service, assist the cooks during a busy service, plate meals, and help keep the kitchen organised and running smoothly. At times you may also support the team during functions or events held at the Club.
No two shifts are exactly the same, and you’ll be part of a team that works together to deliver great meals for our members and guests.
About You
- Experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred (cook or kitchen hand)
- Reliable, hardworking and happy to be part of a team
- Comfortable working in a quick‑paced environment
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Available to work evenings and weekends
