The Role - Reporting to the CFO, you’ll work as the standalone Payroll Officer within a small finance team. This is a mixed, hands-on rand end-to-end payroll role where you’ll own the function, drive process improvements, and act as the first point of contact for all payroll queries.

Key Responsibilities

- Process end-to-end payroll for ~100 employees, ensuring accurate and timely payment
- Manage payroll tax, superannuation, and leave reconciliations in line with compliance requirements
- Operate and optimise the in-house payroll system
- Serve as the primary help deskfor employee and manager payroll enquiries




- Collaborate with the payroll system provider to implement updates and workflow improvements
- Support managers and staff with payroll education and guidance for a smooth user experience
- Contribute to broader finance, compliance and audit activities as needed

What You’ll Bring

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Payroll Officer or similar standalone role
- Strong proficiency with payroll systems (Employment Hero experience preferred)
- Solid understanding of Australian payroll processing, tax, super and compliance
- High attention to detail with excellent reconciliation and analytical skills
- Transparent communicator with a collaborative, team-first mindset
- Finance background (e.g., assistant accountant) is advantageous
