We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a team. The ideal candidate for this role has 2+ years' experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail and is committed to workplace safety.
The position of Machine Operator is responsible for the operation of the plasma cutter, overhead gantry crane and where needed forklifts to achieve efficient, on time and quality cutting for supply. The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar role working with steel and fabrication materials.
Afternoon Shift - 2:00pm to 10:30pm
Night Shift - 10:0pm to 6:30am
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience in operating laser or plasma cutter
- Experience with overhead cranes
- Ability to work autonomously
- Team player
- 2 +years in a manufacturing workplace
- Ability to measure using various types of measuring equipment (Vernier, calliper's and micrometers)
- Have a robust work ethic
- Plan workload to achieve daily targets
- Give significant attention to detail
- Maintain the highest safety standards
- High level organisation skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines.
- Clear problem solver, proven ability to understand and deal with difficult questions or situations.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to attain and retain fitness for work (including clear Drug and Alcohol Screens)
- Currently have the right to work in Australia
- Pass a Police Check

The company stocks a large range, in different steel plate grades between 3mm-300mm, and operates the largest dedicated steel plate profiling and processing facilities in NSW.
