About the role

We are seeking an experienced In House Legal Counsel to join Solar System Pty Ltd on a full-time basis. Based in our Rosehill, NSW office, this role is integral to the organisation, providing strategic and pragmatic legal guidance across all aspects of our business operations. As In House Legal Counsel, you will be a trusted advisor to senior management and operational teams, ensuring the company operates in compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements whilst supporting business growth and strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

- Providing comprehensive legal advice on a broad range of commercial, corporate and regulatory matters
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including service agreements, supply agreements and partnerships
- Managing corporate governance, compliance and risk management matters
- Advising on employment law, contractual disputes and litigation support
- Conducting legal due diligence on potential business opportunities, acquisitions and investments
- Maintaining and updating legal documentation, policies and procedures
- Building and maintaining relationships with external legal advisors and managing external legal spend
- Supporting the organisation in understanding and mitigating legal risks across all business operations




- Providing training and guidance to staff on legal and compliance matters where appropriate

What we're looking for

- 5+ years' post-qualification experience in a commercial law firm or as in-house legal counsel in a complex organisation
- Strong experience in commercial contract drafting, negotiation and management
- Solid understanding of corporate governance, compliance and regulatory requirements
- Proven experience in providing pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice to business stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and sound commercial judgment
- Admission as a lawyer in Australia
