Auto Electrician – Service & Repair Centre

The Drake Group is a leading Australian manufacturer and service provider in the heavy haulage industry, renowned for innovation, quality, and customer service. We are currently seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our busy Service & Repair Centre in Richlands.

Our Richlands Service & Repair facility specialises in the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, and overhaul of heavy haulage trailers and transport equipment. This role offers variety, technical challenges, and the opportunity to work on some of Australia's most innovative transport solutions.

About the Role

As an Auto Electrician, you will play a key role in diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining electrical systems on heavy haulage trailers and related equipment. You will work closely with Mechanical Fitters, Boilermakers, and Engineers to ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys mentoring apprentices and sharing their trade knowledge. The Drake Group employs more than 50 apprentices across its businesses, providing excellent opportunities to contribute to the development of the next generation of tradespeople.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy haulage trailers and associated equipment.

Service, maintain, and install electrical systems, wiring, lighting and EBS braking systems.





Conduct fault-finding using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.

Complete scheduled maintenance and repair work in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.

Accurately complete service reports and maintenance records.

Support and mentor apprentices in developing their technical skills.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.

What We Are Looking For

Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician.

Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems on heavy vehicles, trailers, transport equipment, or similar machinery.

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

Current driver's licence.
