Based in Hemmant, a lucrative career enhancing opportunity currently exists for a highly motivated, customer centric, results driven Business Development Representative to focus on the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast region. We are in a significant growth phase and are seeking another person to join our team.
WeldConnect has 2 divisions:
Oxy/Welding Set Safety Testing; and
Workshop supplies.
Over the past 13 years WeldConnect has rapidly expanded its blue-chip client base and is now ready to approach new customers.
Our edge is a customised APP that guides our technicians to test all our customers Oxy & Welding equipment to national regulations and Australian Standards. We then further support our customers with workshop supplies, including WeldConnect cabinets and vending machines, via prompt direct delivery.
We are seeking a motivated person who can approach new customers and explain both divisions of our business and build a new customer base that will utilise our safety testing expertise and our quality workshop supplies.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting sales zones to develop new oxy/welding set testing for our technicians, and build and maintain strong relationships with customers for sales of workshop supplies.
- Learn & showcase new workshop products.
- Hammer the phone to book ample appointments with new client prospects.
- Present WeldConnect on a daily basis to recent customers, & over time build your customer base.
- Prompt preparation of Quotes, Sales Orders, & Invoices.
- Be a focused team member & work closely with our committed team.
- Liaise with WeldConnect technicians.
Key requirements for the role:
- A commitment to learn and understand two key standards being AS 4839-2001 (Oxy equipment), and AS 1674.2:2025 (Welding)
- You will bring a solid knowledge of workshop consumables to the role, and demonstrate a commitment to continual development of knowledge of workshop consumables.
- You will be in our Hemmant office in the latter part of each day to complete your admin tasks e.g. quotes, making appointments, chasing up purchase orders, raising invoices, and ensuring technicians are booked to undertake the hazard and risk assessments. Please note: if you live a long way from Hemmant, do not apply if the drive to and from home is likely to become a burden for you.
- Proven ability to excel as a gun business development professional who closes deals with determination, persistence, drive, and energy.
- Minimum 3-5 years of business development experience is essential to demonstrate proven success in this role.
- Advanced expertise in welding equipment and consumables knowledge is required to effectively serve our specialised client base.
- Minimum 3+ years of workshop client visit experience is essential for building strong relationships in industrial environments.
- Excellent planning and time management skills.
- Strong listening and presentation skills.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
- Self-starter - you can work alone and in a team environment.
- A positive "can do – will do" attitude.
- Tech savvy - you are comfortable with technology and software applications - WeldConnect uses Apple products.
- Must have a current Australian full driver's licence.
