About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Regional and Specialist team includes Integrated Specialist Services, Mental Health and Wellbeing Services, Primary Healthcare Services, Birthing and Early Childhood Services (South), and Child and Youth Services. Our purpose is to connect, guide, and empower teams and communities through culturally safe, transparent, and responsive ways.

About the Role?

As Wellbeing Support Worker – Staying Deadly Headspace, your role is to take lead from the care coordinators and multidisciplinary care team to holistically walk alongside our clients. Providing practical psychosocial supports in the following domains:

- Promoting client independence by developing and working towards individual goals.
- Working to remove barriers so that clients have improved access to services within the community that enhance individuals' emotional well-being.
- Working from a client and family centred perspective with consideration given to cultural, emotional, and physical needs.
- Working relationship with internal and external services to facilitate referral pathways and explicit communication.




- Conduct home visits or community visits to support ongoing client recovery.
- Ensure engagement of natural supports and networks to compliment funded services and assist in supported decision making where relevant and consistent with customer preferences.

About You?

- Current Criminal History Check.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
- Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
- Experience working in the field of mental health, drug and alcohol services, or related social service fields.

Desirable, but not mandatory:

- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
