Yap Health
Canberra
Yap Health is an exciting new Canberra-based speech pathology practice, founded and run by speech pathologists. We are passionate about rethinking how allied health is delivered in Australia. Here, clinicians operate in a team-first environment where technology and AI remove admin, track outcomes, and free you to focus on what matters most, your patients!
If you're looking for a place where bold thinking, innovation and genuine impact come together, then come Yap with us!
We're small, close-knit, kind of clinic. We're building around a belief that clinicians do their best work when they're genuinely supported, are surrounded by people who have their back, and when they have the freedom to focus on what they trained for. We lean into innovation and real collaboration, where clinical ideas are shared, and where you help shape how we work.
The role
We're looking for a junior to mid-level speech pathologist to join our team and build a rewarding paediatric generalist caseload, working alongside experienced clinicians who are genuinely invested in your growth.
What you’ll do:
Deliver meaningful, evidence-based therapy that builds independence, confidence, and quality of life.
Partner with clients and families across homes, schools, communities, and our spaces.
Share knowledge, join supervision, and support colleagues while shaping a team-first culture.
Work smarter with AI tools that strip away admin and fuel innovation.
Stay sharp and professional, aligned to SPA, NDIS standards, and our clinical governance.
Why Yap with us?
- A team that feels like family. We're a supportive, close-knit crew who look out for one another. Your wins are our wins, and you'll never feel like you're figuring things out alone.
- Culture is the priority. Psychologically safe, neurodiverse-affirming, strength-based,
and designed for feedback and growth.
- Consistent supervision, internal and external. You'll have steady, structured support from within our team as well as access to external supervision where required, because the best learning comes from more than one perspective.
- Growth that sticks. An annual $1,500 professional development budget alongside structured supervision, with protected time to actually use it.
- Your clinical preferences come first. We build caseloads around the areas that interest and energise you, rather than filling a roster.
- Clinician-led, always. Decisions are made by people who understand the work. Your clinical judgement is respected and your voice shapes how the practice runs.
- Admin handled, so you can be a clinician. AI-supported administration takes the load off note-writing, scheduling, and paperwork, so your day is spent on assessment and therapy.
- Competitive pay. A robust base salary of $75,000 to $110,000 (commensurate with experience) plus superannuation and kilometre reimbursement when traveling.
- Flexibility that's real. Choose hours that fit your life, full-time or part-time.
- Startup energy. Move fast, shape something new, and help build a practice from the ground up.
- Fun along the way. Social events, a pet-friendly office, on-site parking, regular morning teas and team coffees, and a crew that knows how to celebrate a win.
Things you’ll need:
- Be a qualified Speech Pathologist with CPSP status with Speech Pathology Australia
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a Working With Vulnerable People Card / Working With Children Check
- Hold a current Australian driver's licence
- Be adaptive and willing to learn and try new things
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Get excited about new ways of working and new technology
