This role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods across regional and interstate routes while ensuring compliance with road safety regulations and company standards. Task & responsibilities
- Operate heavy vehicles (including rigid and articulated trucks) safely and efficiently
- Transport goods to designated locations within required timeframes
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and safe handling techniques
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure roadworthiness
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation
- Adhere to fatigue management,
road laws, and safety regulations
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules effectively
- Ensure load is properly secured in compliance with safety standards
Qualification & experience
- Relevant Heavy Vehicle Driver’s Licence (e.g., HR, HC, or MC)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience
- Certificate II or III in Driving Operations (desirable but not mandatory)
- Good understanding of road safety regulations and fatigue management
- Ability to pass medical and drug/alcohol screening
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Clean driving record preferred
