MSF Sugar is a leading Australian sugar producer and renewable energy. Based in Far North Queensland and part of the global Mitr Phol Group, we operate three sugar mills, extensive farming assets, and a renewable power station producing green energy from bagasse.

The Role

MSF Sugar is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Sugar Process Operator to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This exciting prospect is based at our Tableland Mill, located approximately 25km west of Mareeba on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands.

In this role, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of critical sugar milling equipment, including the high-grade Fugals, low grade Fugals, sugar driers and pan stage operations.

This is an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the sugar production process and receive comprehensive training to become a fully certified Sugar Boiler.

The Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities include:

- Operate and monitor the Automated Pan Stage Operations, ensuring efficient and precise crystallisation
- Manage the operation of Fugals
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance duties to keep processes running smoothly.
- Ensure the quality and consistency of sugar production
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across your workstation.
- Use computer systems to monitor and control various aspects of the operation.

About You





The below attributes will be highly regarded:

- Experience in sugar milling or a good understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Previous experience in a process or plant operating role.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to product quality.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach to work and problem-solving.

As our operation is continuous 24/7, during the crushing season, you will need to ensure you are available to work on a rotating 4-On 4-Off roster, including nights and some weekends as required. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands‑on and automated operations, values teamwork and wants to build a long-term career in sugar production.
