Central West Pine Creations is a locally owned timber by-product business, specialising in the processing and supply of quality woodchip & sawdust. Supporting a range of industries including agriculture, landscaping & animal bedding, we are looking for a reliable Forwarder Operator to join our operation.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic forestry environment with modern equipment and a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a Komatsu 895 Forwarder to extract and transport timber from harvest sites to roadside piles.
Daily operations include the collection of leftover residue from harvesting, transporting residue roadside and chipping product into walking floor trailers.
Conduct daily machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
Maintain effective time management and ensure daily & weekly KPI's are met.
Monitor machine performance and report faults or maintenance requirements.
Maintain high standards of workplace safety and environmental compliance.
Complete operational records and pre-start documentation as required.
Work effectively within a small team environment while also being capable of operating independently and managing workloads with minimal supervision.
Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills when working in remote forestry operations.
About You
Previous experience operating a forestry forwarder or forestry work.
Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valuable communication and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work in varying terrain and weather conditions.
Current driver's licence.
First Aid Certificate (desired but not essential).
